1) i had fully planned on getting a tragus and a lobe piercing yesterday but then i chickened out due to a combination of fear, guilt, money woes and general uncertainty. you can thank my parents and various other people for that. id have looked gayer so maybe it was a good thing after all. i spent my moneys on a deep blue velvety blazer/jacket instead and it fits like a glove. i might post a picture up, like honestly its that good. but now im shit poor and i wont be getting income for a while. deng.

sigur rós have certainly been keeping busy lately. in addition to the riceboy sleeps album, jónsi's solo album and kjartan's ondine soundtrack, sigur rós have been at work in their sundlaugin studio in álafoss the past few weeks recording a full length album, which is now nearing completion. orri told morgunblaðið newspaper today that the recordings have been going very well and that the album is taking form as a slower and more ambient record than með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust and takk…. he also describes the music as melodic but much less noisy and more "out there" than previous albums. the album does not have a release date set but is expected to be released sometime next year.

i know i was all, 'hey guys ima gonna be a blogger' but then uni actually got busy and i neglected this place for a while. but here i am, and i have stories to tell.

well firstly, i realised on the way home that tomorrow is my last day of classes for the semester. ive absolutely no idea where the time all went. but things have been good. ive met some lovely people and not too many unsavoury characters (though i am looking at your general direction when i type this, rob) and the classes have been cruisy and stimulating for the most part. i just wish it didnt end so abruptly.

i now have 2 assignments and a folio to hand in but il have enough time to finish it all up before the due date. then 5 or so weeks of work and possibly a hot meal and then onto second semester! most of our classes have been auto-allocated so i know already that theres three 4-hour studios each week that are jammed into thursdays and fridays. that could be good or bad, im not too sure yet. and really not a whole lot beyond that. oh and a single lone exam which is only worth 35% so i wont get too worried.

today i had a nice lengthy break in between classes cos half of our units were already finished. so i went to chadstone to waste some time and some money. i came home with mr. beast by mogwai and the fountain soundtrack, which i think i mentioned earlier somewhere. well i was damn excited to get home and listen, but then when i got home the cd would just not play. i inspected it and found that there was a little notch out of the side. my laptop wouldnt just spat it out again and it gave off this ticking noise in my cd player. and i had already thrown out the receipt. fml.

so in my frustration i turned to itunes and bought it again there. cos im so radical and impatient like that. whoooooo but in return for the excessive amounts of money that i paid, i get to listen to it NOW, right this instant. youre so jealous right now, yeah..
