illgresi

this one took a while, its a leafy sea dragon but drawn like some sort of intricate tree/root system. i painted the basic shape with watercolour and then went over it with a mechanical pencil.

the title is taken from a track from the newest sigur rós album með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. 'illgresi' is icelandic for weeds which i think is appropriate.

edit: so here's the new scan. the detail definitely comes out a lot better. i recommend the full view. nay, the full view is a must! enjoy.
